Hussam Cheaib

Hussam Cheaib has a diverse work experience in the field of security consulting and IT. Hussam is currently working at SEC Consult Group as a Teamleiter / Principal Security Consultant since April 2023. Prior to this role, they held positions as a Teamleiter / Senior Security Consultant and Senior Security Consultant at the same company. Hussam also served as a Security Consultant at Deloitte from February 2017 to June 2019, where they conducted penetration tests for clients in the automotive and finance industries, led network penetration tests, and developed mobile application penetration testing programs. Additionally, they worked as a Dozent Mobile Security at Fachhochschule St Pölten starting in November 2020. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as an IT und Application Security Developer at Ruhr-Universität Bochum from August 2014 to January 2017. Hussam also worked independently as a Freelancer from August 2009 to February 2014, specializing in IT and network security, and as an IT & Network Technician at AL Com from July 2006 to July 2009.

Hussam Cheaib began their education in 2009 at the Lebanese International University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. Hussam completed their undergraduate studies in 2013. Following this, they enrolled at Ruhr University Bochum in 2014 and obtained a Master of Science degree in IT-Security in 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Hussam acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 2017, they obtained the CyberArk Privileged Account Security (PAS) Fundamentals certification from CyberArk. In 2018, they achieved the CyberArk Certified Defender certification, as well as the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification. In 2019, they earned the Offensive Security Wireless Professional (OSWP) certification and became an ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer certified by BSI.

Later, in 2023, Hussam became a certified Threat Modeling Practitioner through the Data Protection Institute.
