Amanda Fischer is a seasoned policy professional with extensive experience in finance and regulatory affairs. Currently serving as Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to the Chair at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since June 2021, Amanda has previously held significant roles such as Policy Director at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth and volunteer member of the Biden-Harris Transition Team, focusing on federal financial regulatory agencies. Amanda has also worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as Chief of Staff for a freshman Congresswoman and as Deputy Staff Director for the Committee on Financial Services, where Amanda managed policy teams and played a key role in legislative efforts like the Dodd-Frank Act. Additional experience includes positions at the United States Senate and HUD, where Amanda contributed to major regulatory and crisis response initiatives. Amanda holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy Analysis from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Public Policy from the University at Buffalo.
