James Scobey

James Scobey is an experienced technology and cybersecurity executive currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since August 2022. Previously, James held multiple leadership roles at the same agency, including Chief Technology Officer and Assistant Director of Cybersecurity Operations. As President and CEO of SigmaCyber, and Co-Founder of S2i2, Inc., James demonstrated expertise in managing technological initiatives and cybersecurity operations. With a strong background in engineering and business, James earned a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity Policy & Compliance from The George Washington University and holds both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
