Jinal Pothupitiya

Jinal Pothupitiya, Ph.D., serves as a Scientist II in Polymer Chemistry at Secant Group, LLC since November 2022, focusing on the characterization of polyol-polyacid-based prepolymers and exploring structure-activity relationships of branched prepolymer resins. Prior to this role, Jinal worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Yale University from July 2019 to November 2022, developing novel polymeric materials for cancer therapy and chronic disease treatment. Jinal gained teaching experience at the University of Rhode Island as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, instructing undergraduate students in organic chemistry, and earlier served as a Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, where responsibilities included conducting laboratory sessions and organizing seminars. Additionally, Jinal has experience as a Process Control Executive at Midas Safety, coordinating laboratory teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes. Jinal earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island and holds a Graduateship in Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry Ceylon.
