In 2014, Ragan completed the Boating Skills and Seamanship program offered by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and also received training in Corrections from the Correctional Training Institute (CTI).

Later in 2014, they underwent training as an Information Services Officer at the USCG Aux 10 C-school.

Ragan has also pursued additional educational opportunities. Christian completed Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) adult training with CIT (Crisis Intervention Team), and they became a Special Deputy with the Marion County Sheriff Department.
