Kanchana Padmanabhan

Kanchana Padmanabhan has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2010, they started as a Summer Research Intern at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Kanchana continued their research internships at Oak Ridge in 2011 and then at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 2012. From 2009 to 2013, they worked at North Carolina State University in various roles as a Graduate Student, Graduate Research Assistant, and Graduate Teaching Assistant.

In 2013, Kanchana joined Meltwater Social (formerly Sysomos) as a Data Scientist and eventually became a Manager, responsible for developing machine learning features for the social media monitoring and analytics platform. After that, they worked at Rubikloud Technologies, where their team built retail price and promotion planning and optimization products. Rubikloud was later acquired by Kinaxis for $60M in 2020.

From 2016 to 2020, Kanchana worked at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management as an External Instructor, teaching the Social Networks Analysis course in the Master's of Management Analytics program. Kanchana also taught in the executive education programs. Simultaneously, they joined Toronto Metropolitan University and served as a Lecturer in the Master of Data Science program, teaching courses like Deep Learning, Big Data Tools, Data Visualization, and Graph Mining.

Kanchana's most recent position was as the Director of Machine Learning Solutions at Kinaxis, a global enterprise supply chain management software company, where they managed the Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering teams. Kanchana later joined Secure AI Labs as the VP of Engineering & Product starting in 2023.
