Sean M. O’Connell

As President of Securian Asset Management, Sean provides strategic leadership for Securian’s primary investment subsidiary. He also serves as the senior vice president and chief investment officer for the parent company, Securian Financial.

Sean joined Securian Financial in 1993 as a senior analyst, specializing in real estate-related investments. He was named an officer and second vice president of Securian Financial in 2003 and during his tenure, he has developed expertise in a variety of asset classes and managed analysts covering real estate, structured finance research, and security recommendations for our General Account
