Augusto Barros

Augusto Barros has over 20 years of experience in the field of cybersecurity. Augusto is currently serving as the Vice President of Product Marketing at Securonix since November 2023. Before that, they held the position of VP Cyber Security Evangelist at Securonix from April 2021 to November 2023. Prior to joining Securonix, they worked at Gartner as a VP Research Analyst from April 2018 to August 2020 and as a Research Director for Gartner for Technical Professionals from July 2015 to August 2020. Augusto also served as an Information Security Director and Security Architect at CIBC, an important Canadian bank, from 2013 to 2015. Augusto Barros has held various roles in security consultation and management at companies like Davis and Henderson, Credit Solutions Group, Tempest Security Intelligence, ISSA, FIS, BankBoston, and Proteus Security Systems.

Augusto Barros holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, which they obtained from 1995 to 1998. Augusto also has several certifications, including PMC Level 2 from Pragmatic Institute, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft, AWS Certified Security – Specialty and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, they have certifications in SOA Security from Arcitura Education Inc., TOGAF 9 from The Open Group, CISSP-ISSAP and CISSP from (ISC)². Augusto has also completed courses in behavioral economics through edX and has a professional certificate in the Economics of Cybersecurity from edX.
