Nicholas Aures

Nicholas Aures has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Nicholas started their career at Bryant & Stratton College as a part-time Network Administrator, where they provided support for minor IT issues during evening and weekend classes. Their responsibilities included maintaining active directory, performing technical cleanup of shared workstations, and ensuring the successful deployment of Windows updates.

Next, Nicholas worked as a Store Manager at Zumiez for over five years, where they gained valuable experience in managing a retail store and overseeing day-to-day operations.

Following this, they joined Tri-Delta Resources Corp. as a Field Engineer and Network Administrator. In this role, they provided complete IT support for a charter school, including day-to-day user support and forward planning to ensure the school's technical infrastructure met its goals of achieving a "1-to-1" device-to-student ratio. Nicholas administered various technologies such as Windows workstations, Chromebooks, projectors, tablets, mobile device managers, smartboards, IP phones, servers, a web content filter, and a wireless system.

Later, Nicholas joined Advance2000 as a Network Administrator, where they provided remote and on-site support to customers. Their tasks involved resolving customer issues ranging from simple password resets to urgent network or phone down situations. Nicholas also completed project-based work, including workstation configurations, software updates, and data migrations.

Currently, Nicholas is working at Sedara Security as a Threat Hunter/Penetration Tester. Nicholas utilizes their expertise in information security to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. Prior to this role, they served as an Information Security Analyst at the same company.

Overall, Nicholas has a strong background in IT support, network administration, and information security, with a focus on ensuring the smooth functioning of technical infrastructure and safeguarding against potential threats.

Nicholas Aures obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Information Technology from Bryant & Stratton College from 2008 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained several certifications including VTSP 2015 from VMware in November 2015, Sophos Certified Engineer from Sophos in October 2015, CompTIA Network+ ce from CompTIA in April 2016, and Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council in August 2020.
