Katie Rayfield has worked in the field of human resources and fisheries science since 2010. Katie began their career as a Scientific Technician with the National Park Service in 2010. In 2015, they became a Fisheries Biologist with the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they monitored and operated rotary smolt traps to assess fish passage issues at multiple hydropower facilities. In 2017, they moved to the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe as a Field Biologist, conducting research concerning Skagit River Steelhead populations. In 2019, they became the Human Resources & Safety Manager at Bay Baby Produce Inc, managing and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resource policies, programs and practices. Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Human Resources Generalist at Sedron Technologies.

Katie Rayfield has a diverse educational background. Katie earned a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Western Governors University in 2022, a Bachelor of Science - BS in Environmental Biology from the University of Montana in 2014, and an Associate of Arts and Sciences - AAS from Whatcom Community College in 2007.
