Oliver Corea

Director, Applied Genomics at Segra International Corp.

Oliver Corea has a diverse work experience spanning over 18 years. Oliver is currently working as the Director of Applied Genomics at Segra International Corp since November 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Zenabis Global Inc. from 2018 to 2020, holding roles as the Head of Analytical Science in Quality Control and as the Head Scientist in Plant Analytics & Extraction in the R&D department. Before joining Zenabis, Oliver worked as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria from 2013 to 2016 and at Simon Fraser University from 2012 to 2013. Oliver also has experience as a Graduate Student and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Washington State University from 2007 to 2011 and at Western University from 2004 to 2006. Additionally, Oliver gained practical experience as a Student Intern for Biosafety Consultant at Golden Genomics, South Africa in 2003.

Oliver Corea pursued their education in the field of sciences, specializing in Molecular Plant Sciences and Genetics. Oliver began their academic journey in 2000 at Western University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Genetics in 2004. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution and completed a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology between 2004 and 2006. Oliver Corea further advanced their education by enrolling at Washington State University, where they successfully obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Plant Sciences in the years spanning from 2007 to 2011.
