David Miller

Research Director And Assistant To The President For Strategic Campaigns at SEIU UHW

David Miller has extensive work experience in the labor union industry. David started their career as a Researcher at SEIU in 1995 and later worked as a Strategic Analyst at AFSCME. David then joined 1199 United Healthcare Workers East as a Research Director, where they supported the development of the union's organizing program and managed the research and policy work. David then joined SEIU and served as the Deputy Division Director for Health Systems and later as the Strategic Director for SEIU Healthcare, where they developed strategies and implemented campaigns to improve healthcare. In 2013, they joined SEIU UHW as the Assistant to the President for Strategic Campaigns, responsible for the development of the union's strategic work and management of the Research Department. David oversaw a team of 18 and outside consultants and played a key role in the successful development of healthcare ballot measures, legislation on personal protective equipment and insurance reform, and the launch of a new healthcare program worth $130 million.

David Miller attended Bard College from 1987 to 1991, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Religion. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree at the Pacific School of Religion from 1991 to 1994, focusing on the field of Religion.
