SeKON is seeking a Desktop Systems Administrator to support NIH NIDDK IT Services. The Desktop System Administrator Serves as a Tier 3 resource for the NIDDK service desk and computer user community.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but not limited to)

  • The Desktop System Administrator's primary responsibilities include acting as an escalation point for desktop system issues.
  • Responsible for assisting with networked print queue management, Active Directory Management (resource and service account creation/ management, distribution list creation/ management, Public Folder management), desktop system patching, antivirus, and other security agent endpoint management of all NIDDK desktop systems.
  • Acts as a resource in providing security remediation for NIDDK systems, to include identifying, tracking, and resolving security vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinates with the COR and NIDDK/CTB technical staff on all these issues, as well as with the NIDDK/CTB office automation network administration staff on issues having to do with NIDDK office automation networks.
  • Reports on progress; develops tools for system-wide use in developing applications; prepares system documentation.
  • Monitor and respond to application, system, and security alerts according to established monitoring plans.
  • Coordinate communications channels during major incidents and record problem investigations in the NIH My IT Service Management System, NIH /RT Portal, JIRA, or designated system in a timely fashion.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree along with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in IT customer support or an Associate degree or H.S. diploma with at least six (6) years of relevant work experience.

  • The Desktop Systems Administrator shall have a Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance, or obtain a Level 5 (NACIC) security clearance within six (6) months of contract award. Requires technical computer and customer service skills.

  • It is preferred that the Desktop Systems Administrator has, at minimum, a Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITIL) v3.

  • Must have one or more of the following:

  • MCSA: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate

  • MSCE: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert

  • Apple Certified Support Professional

  • JAMF Certified Tech (current or current -1 version)

  • (ISC) 2 Systems Security Certified Professional (SSCP)
