Gerrad Frei has held a variety of roles in the media and security forces industries. In 2012, they began as an On Air Personality at Queen B Radio, KIYX-FM Dubuque's Super Hits 106. In 2014, they took on the role of Interim News Director at Queen B Radio, writing, creating, producing, and editing multiple daily news broadcasts. In 2016, they became the Production/Continuity Director at Queen B Radio, managing and overseeing the department that wrote, created, and produced radio advertising. In 2017, they held two roles, Senior Military Affairs Security Forces Officer at Department of Military Affairs - Volk Field CRTC and Correctional Officer at Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center. In 2021, they worked as a Writer/Content Creator at BestReviews, writing assigned consumer review articles and researching products to provide guidance to readers/consumers. Currently, they are a Technical Content Writer & Market Research Associate at SelectHub, conducting market research and writing clear, concise and targeted AP Style content in the B2B software space.

Gerrad Frei obtained a Bachelor of Science in Communication Technologies with a field of study in Journalism and Broadcast Production from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2014.
