Charles Owuor, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to the present. Charles currently serves as the Head of Programme and Business Development Coordinator at Self Help Africa, where they are responsible for translating the organization's global vision and strategy into project implementation and ensuring the highest standards of project quality. Charles is also leading the planning, design, development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the country programs in Uganda.

Previously, Charles worked as a Senior Programme Adviser Access to Finance at the Royal Danish Embassy. Charles also served as a PhD Fellow at Kenyatta University, conducting research on the effects of public education expenditure on economic growth in developing countries.

Charles also served as a Consortium Coordinator at ACT/DanChurch AID and held various roles at CARE International in Uganda, including Coordinator and Community-Based Natural Resource Management and M&E Coordinator.

Charles Owuor, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree from Kenyatta University, specializing in Agricultural Economics. Prior to their doctorate, they earned a Master of Science degree in Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture from Makerere University, which they completed between 2001 and 2003. Charles also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Makerere University, having completed their undergraduate studies between 1995 and 2000.
