Barbara Hartzler has over 10 years of work experience in various roles. In 2020, they began working as a Fiction Coach at selfpublishing.com, helping students achieve their dreams in finishing that first novel, learning to write great fiction, and finding the right audience of readers. Since 2014, they have been an independent author and freelance graphic designer at www.barbarahartzler.com. In 2019, they were a Graphic Designer at Long Motor Corporation. In 2018, they were a Paralegal at Sanders.Law, where they were the go-to writer for legal documents and a graphic designer for branded PowerPoint presentations with integrated video. In 2017, they were an Administrative Assistant at Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods, where they were a key player in coordinating the hiring process and committee interviews, and implemented a new campus-wide unified start time schedule. In 2009, they were an Evaluations Rep at Grantham University, where they evaluated incoming transfer students’ transcripts with a 97% accuracy rating. In 2006, they were a Production Graphic Artist at SkillPath Seminars, where they were a layout designer, typesetter, and copy editor for over 100 monthly direct-mail brochures. Finally, in 2005, they were a Public Relations Specialist at Northland Cathedral, where they were a writer, editor, and layout artist for 1,000 weekly bulletins and 4,000 monthly newsletters, as well as a graphic designer for advertisements, posters, large-scale banners, and promotional materials.

Barbara Hartzler obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communication and Media Studies from Central Bible College in 2005. Barbara then furthered their education by completing Master's Studies in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services at the University of Arkansas Grantham in 2012.
