Charles Barsley has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Charles started their career as an Allocator at House of Fraser in 2005. Charles then transitioned into a role as an Assistant Merchandiser at Jane Norman, where they were responsible for managing a team of allocators and overseeing inventory planning and store replenishment.

Returning to House of Fraser, Charles took on various roles within the Online Trading team, including Online Assistant Merchandiser and Assistant Merchandiser - Online Trading. In these positions, they focused on trading the House of Fraser website, analyzing onsite search data, and optimizing the customer journey.

In 2011, Charles became an Online Trading Lead at House of Fraser, where they managed a website recategorization project and developed a methodology to enrich products and map them to the new categorization.

In 2013, Charles joined Selfridges as a Website Trading Manager, responsible for managing and coordinating men's fashion and accessories to drive online sales. Charles built strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external brand partners to launch and range products. Charles then moved into roles such as Digital Analytics & Optimization Manager, Senior Insights Manager, and Senior Digital Analytics Manager, before ultimately becoming the Head Of Analytics in November 2021.

Throughout their career, Charles has demonstrated expertise in analytics, optimization, trading, merchandising, and team management.

Charles Barsley obtained a Bachelor of Science in Retail Management from the University of Surrey, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they attended Bethany School from 1999 to 2001. In terms of certifications, they completed the Google Analytics Certification (GA4) in August 2022, and has also obtained certifications in Google Tag Manager Fundamentals, ObservePoint Academy | ObservePoint Professional, and GA4 Kickstarter team training.
