James Young

Consultant Requirements Engineer at SEMP

James Young has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. James started their career at MBDA in 2010 as a Contract Systems Engineer, where they performed a study to de-risk future development work. James then worked at GE Aviation as a Contract Software Engineer, responsible for developing embedded software and designing Built-In Test functionality. In 2014, they returned to MBDA as a Contract Systems Definition Engineer, maintaining and updating DOORS specifications and Rhapsody Models. James also worked at GE Aviation as a Contract Systems Engineer, managing teams and coordinating with other teams for timely delivery of requirements. In 2016, they co-founded 2Comms as a Director. James later joined MBDA again in 2017 as a Contract Systems Engineer, generating requirement verification models and maintaining traceability. James then worked at SEMP as a Consultant Systems Engineer, leading projects and developing real-time dashboards. James joined GE Aerospace as a Consultant Systems Engineer, resolving issues in validation and verification reviews and defining test procedures. James also worked on the NEOM - The Line project at SEMP as a Consultant Requirements Engineer, elicitating high-level requirements and identifying traceability gaps. Most recently, they worked at HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd as a DOORS Database Manager, restructuring databases and implementing access control models.

James Young received their BSc Hons in Computer Science from the University of Aberdeen, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. James further pursued their education at UCL from 2006 to 2010, earning an MSc in Systems Engineering Management.
