Melissa Shaltis

Melissa Shaltis has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Starting in 1998, they worked as an intern at Ford Motor Company before moving on to Medtronic as a Design Engineering Intern in 1999. In 2002, they joined Texas Instruments as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

In 2007, Melissa joined Sensata Technologies, where they held various leadership roles. Melissa served as the Manager of Quality from 2007 to 2011, overseeing quality management processes. Melissa then became the Manager of PMT Program and Operations, responsible for product ownership, P&L management, and leading program and project teams within the Product Family.

From 2014 to 2016, Melissa worked as the Director of Global Production and Material Planner at Sensata. In this role, they managed planning processes for global production and materials across the company.

Melissa then took on the role of Director of Product Management at Sensata from 2016 to 2020. Melissa was responsible for creating capital plans and approving capital projects. Melissa also managed capacity plans across global sites, leading to optimized capacity spend.

In 2020, Melissa became the Director Planning Global Process Owner at Sensata. Melissa worked with consultants from McKinsey and Company to improve the company's internal planning processes, including the development of a faster Master Production Schedule.

In 2022, Melissa took on two additional roles at Sensata. Melissa served as the Director for Product Cost Optimization, where they worked with the global engineering team to identify cost-reduction opportunities and led the Internal Cost Estimation Team. Melissa also served as the Director, Lead PMO for Divestiture, managing an extended team of professionals during a highly accelerated divestiture project.

Melissa Shaltis earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2000. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at MIT from 2000 to 2002. Prior to attending MIT, Melissa attended Friends Academy until 1996. In 2017, they also obtained a certification in Micromasters Supply Chain Management from MITx on edX.
