Oscar Fernandez has extensive work experience in finance and operations leadership roles. Oscar started their career at Schneider Electric in 1986, working as an Accounting Manager and later as a Materials and Inventory Control Manager. In 1990, they joined Deltec Electronics Corporation as a Financial and Administrative Manager. Oscar then moved to Rain Bird, where they served as a Plant Controller from 1992 to 1995. From 1995 to 1998, they held the position of West Coast Director of Finance at Tyco Retail Solutions.
In 1998, Fernandez returned to Schneider Electric as a Plant Controller and later became an Operations Manager. Oscar joined Custom Sensors & Technologies (CST) in 2006, initially as the CFO Crydom/Business Unit Controller/Shared Services and later as the CFO Crydom/Business Unit Controller. During their tenure at CST, Fernandez led financial reorganizations, implemented internal controls, and drove profitability improvements.
In 2009, Fernandez transitioned to Custom Sensors & Technologies as the CFO Crydom/Business Unit Controller. Oscar successfully built efficient reporting structures, developed new tools for financial analysis, and optimized manufacturing costs. In 2013 and 2014, they served as the EMEA Finance, Business Unit Controller, responsible for reorganizing the finance and compliance structure and adding processes and procedures for accurate reporting.
Fernandez then returned to Crydom/Business Unit Controller role at CST in 2015, where they improved financial efficiency and led the transition to a new ERP system. In 2016, they became the Director, Finance Operations - Americas Region, overseeing finance and analytical activities across the manufacturing sites in the U.S and Mexico. From 2019, they have been serving as the Director of Finance - Sensing Solutions at Sensata Technologies, leading finance resources and analytical activities across multiple manufacturing sites worldwide.
Throughout their career, Oscar Fernandez has demonstrated expertise in optimizing financial flows, driving efficiency in analytical processes, and supporting timely actions for course correction and adaptation. Oscar has also shown a track record of building strong finance teams, implementing internal controls, and driving profitability improvements.
Oscar Fernandez holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Phoenix, which they completed from 1999 to 2002. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, where they studied from 1983 to 1987. In 1988, they also became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Publicos.
