$80,000 - $130,000 / year, Exempt

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a seasoned Senior Manager of Global Environmental Health and Safety to join our team at Sensei Ag! This role is all about creating a safe and healthy work environment for our people and the planet. You'll develop and put in place policies, procedures, and programs that make sense for our global strategy. The ultimate goal is to build a culture where everyone looks out for each other and the environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct on-site inspections, risk assessments, and audits in all Sensei locations.
  • Represent the company during formal audits.
  • Develop emergency response strategies and crisis management protocols.
  • Investigate compliance violations and ensures appropriate response to accidents or injuries.
  • Ensure environmental and occupational compliance with regulations.
  • Lead and direct other EHS employees.
  • Collaborate with operations and FSQA teams on chemical use and safety protocols.
  • Develop proactive processes for managing hazards.
  • Establish and enforce guidelines for documentation retention.
  • Travel up to 50% of the year to conduct site-based inspections, conduct audits, and attend leadership meetings. 

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO APPLY?

  • At least (8) eight years of experience. 
  • Demonstrated leadership of a team in an agriculture, food processing, or manufacturing
  • Expertise in relevant regulations, codes, and legislative requirements:
    • Health and Safety Act (Ontario/USA)
    • Environmental Protect Agency (USA) 
    • Canadian Standards Association
    • Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety 
    • Environmental Protection Act (CND)
  • Demonstrated expertise and application of ISO standards (or related programs)
  • Expert Knowledge of Safety Chain or related document control software.
  • Proficient use of Power BI or related software as well as MS Suite- particularly Excel.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in science, environmental engineering, business or another related field (Master’s Degree Preferred)

  • Confined Space Training
  • (Canada) Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation; or (United States) Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)- preferred
