Antonio Günzler Thoma

R D Engineer at Sensirion

Antonio Günzler Thoma has a diverse work experience in research and development. Antonio is currently working at Sensirion as an R&D Engineer, starting in January 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Junior R&D Engineer at the same company from February 2022 to December 2022.

Before joining Sensirion, Antonio worked at the Adolphe Merkle Institute. Antonio started their journey there as a PhD Student in Soft Matter Physics in January 2017 and completed their tenure in June 2021. During their time as a PhD student, they worked on theoretical projects related to light-matter interactions in photonic metamaterials, using analytical techniques and algorithm development. Antonio also conducted experimental projects involving refractive index matching nanoparticle suspensions.

Following their PhD, Antonio held the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Adolphe Merkle Institute from June 2021 to December 2021. In this role, they continued working on theoretical projects related to light-matter interactions in photonic metamaterials. Additionally, they were involved in experimental projects focused on refractive index matching nanoparticle suspensions, working in the laboratory.

Antonio Günzler Thoma brings a strong background in research and theoretical work, as well as practical experience in experimental projects.

Antonio Günzler Thoma pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Physics from 2017 to 2021 at the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg. Prior to that, from 2013 to 2016, they completed their Master of Science in Mathematics degree with a specialization in Combinatorial Topology and Discrete Geometry at Technische Universität Berlin. In 2010, Antonio began their higher education journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree with a focus on Algebraic Topology from UCL, which they completed in 2013.
