Kevin Crooks has worked in a variety of roles in the field of linguistic technology. From 2013 to present, they have been the Linguistic Technology Manager at Sensory, Inc. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as an Annotator at Rosetta Stone. From 2007 to 2010, they were an English Language and Culture Teacher at Dong-A University in Busan, South Korea. From 2005 to 2007, they were a Professional Research Assistant, Verb Sense Annotator, and Undergraduate Doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Institute of Cognitive Science. During this time, they managed the annotation of medical notes and lab reports for MiPACQ, SHARP, and THYMA grants, with a focus on anaphora/coreference resolution and syntactic tagging through TreeBank and PropBank.

Kevin Crooks received their BA in Spanish, Linguistics, and Mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2009. Kevin then went on to obtain an MA in Linguistics and TESOL from the same university in 2010. In 2011, they earned an MA in Secondary Spanish Education from the University of Colorado Denver.
