Billy Herrera

Billy Herrera is currently a Manager of Engineering at Sentant. Prior to that, they worked as an IT Support Specialist at SmartBiz Loans from March 2019 to March 2021. There, they specialized in automation and deployment of machines, in-office and remote monitoring and security enhancements, as well as implementing BASH and Python executables for data collection for reporting purposes. Some of the applications they managed during their tenure include JAMF Pro, Okta SSO system and API implementation, Apple Business Manager, Meraki Systems, Sophos and Bitdefender Antivirus, RingCentral Phone and Fax systems, Zoom, Google Meet and GoToWebinar Video Conferencing, BASH, Python3 and C++ development.

Before working at SmartBiz Loans, Billy worked as a Technical Specialist at NETGEAR - b8ta from November 2017 to February 2019. There, they were responsible for customer service and spearheading development of marketing strategies and troubleshooting NETGEAR products (networking, IP-DHCP configurations). Billy was also the Leading IT Associate for store-front and operations at consumer-home level, working on Microsoft and Apple systems for remote management and troubleshooting. Their responsibilities also entailed development and management of seminars for potential customers, as well as training on-site staff of troubleshooting systems through L1 customer service and escalations to L2.

Billy Herrera's educational career includes completing a high school diploma with a focus on STEM courses from Lincoln High School. Billy then went on to study biological sciences and economics at the University of California, Merced, where they specialized in molecular biology. After completing their undergraduate degree, Billy Herrera pursued several professional certifications, including an OSHA 10-hour certification from the Rochester Institute of Technology, an Okta Certified Consultant certification from Okta, and an Okta Certified Administrator and Okta Certified Professional certification from Okta, Inc. Billy also holds a National Science Foundation Computational and Data-Enabled Science and Engineering (CDS&E) certification from the National Science Foundation.
