Arnold Wiliem

Arnold Wiliem began their work experience in 2010 as a Researcher at NICTA, where they worked on a digital pathology project with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology. Arnold developed a digital pathology system for ANA tests, which resulted in significant savings for the industrial partner.

In 2013, Arnold joined The University of Queensland as a Research Fellow, managing various computer vision projects, including the digital pathology project. Arnold later became an Advanced Queensland Research Fellow, leading a team in building three digital pathology systems for Renal, Skin, and Tuberculosis tests.

In 2016, Arnold became an Adjunct Senior Fellow and a UQ Amplify Fellow at The University of Queensland. Arnold managed several research projects as one of the Chief Investigators and developed a system for TB tests that reduced processing time from 10 minutes to 10 seconds.

In 2019, Arnold joined Sentient Vision Systems as a Software Engineer in Deep Learning, specializing in Maritime ViDAR product development. Arnold was involved in the full cycle of deep learning/AI development, from research to product development. In 2020, they were promoted to Principal Engineer in Deep Learning, leading and growing the Sentient Deep Learning team and developing strategic plans for deep learning capability development.

Arnold also worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), starting in 2022.

Arnold Wiliem obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Indonesia, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Arnold then pursued further education at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science, specializing in Computer Vision and Image Processing, from 2007 to 2010. Prior to these higher education programs, Arnold Wiliem attended Kanisius, although the start and end years are not provided, along with any specific degree or field of study information.
