Joost van Houten

Joost van Houten has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Joost is currently serving as the Chief Growth Officer at Fenergo since March 2023. Prior to that, Joost was the Founder & CEO of Sentinels, an AI-driven transaction monitoring company that they established in April 2019. Joost also founded and served as CEO of another AI-driven transaction monitoring company called Slimmer AI, from April 2019 to April 2021. Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Joost worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Company from September 2016 to November 2018, where they gained experience in various board-level topics and industries, including digital strategy, go-to-market strategy, and product management. Additionally, they worked as an Innovation Associate at Innoleaps from an unspecified period in 2015 to 2016. Joost also has experience as the Managing Director of a venture-backed e-commerce startup, which was later acquired, at VentureBuilders from November 2018 to April 2019.

In 2004-2010, Joost attended Barlaeus Gymnasium in Amsterdam, where they completed their Gymnasium / VWO degree.

From 2010 to 2013, Joost pursued their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in International Business (IBA) at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Next, in 2014-2015, Joost enrolled in Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Management of Innovation.

Most recently, in 2019, Joost attended the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a Professional Certificate (Executive Education) in Product Management.
