Agnieszka Pluwak has had a diverse career in Natural Language Processing (NLP). From 2010-2011, they worked as a translator at the LEC Centre. In 2011, they worked as a Specialist in the Department for International Cooperation and Promotion at the KSAP National School of Public Administration in Warsaw. From 2012-2013, they were a Visiting Researcher at the ICSI - International Computer Science Institute, where they conducted research on framing of governance in Mexico. During this same period, they also worked as a Manager at the High Tech Foundation, where they were responsible for staff recruitment, establishing and coordinating educational programs and projects, and fundraising. From 2013-2018, they were an Associate Professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, where they were the Coordinator of digital humanities projects under the DARIAH. PL Consortium. During this same period, they also worked as a Research Scientist and NLP Project Coordinator at Fido Labs, conducting research in the field of NLP. In 2016, they worked as a Linguistic Engineer and Linguist - NLP Specialist at Samsung, where they were responsible for rule-based NLU, creating formal grammars, testing, diagnosing and fixing errors of speech-to-text systems, and other tasks. In 2017, they worked as a freelancer NLP Linguist/ Developer at Lionbridge, developing advanced text correction functions for a popular document editing program. From 2018-present, they have worked as an NLP Project Manager at SentiOne, managing NLP projects aimed at building ML- and rule-based models for text summarization, aspect and feature extraction, named entity recognition, question answering, NLU engine optimization, dialog state tracking, emotion detection in text, and semantic categories of texts. Agnieszka has also worked as an NLP Expert at Yosh.AI.
Agnieszka Pluwak received their Bachelor's Degree in Applied Linguistics from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan in 2005. Agnieszka then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics from the same university in 2007. In 2009, they earned their Master's Degree in International Relations and National Security Studies from Collegium Civitas. In 2011, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Linguistics from the Institute of Slavic Languages, Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2005, they also earned a Business English Certificate from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2013, they were certified as a Researcher of The Pomeranian World of Innovation / Naukowiec Programu Pomorski Świat Innowacji from INVESTIN Sp. z o.o.
