Objectives and Purpose of the Job:
Assures the quality of all packaging produced at the UHT filling room by ensuring aspects for Food Safety,
Quality and Regulatory requirements are maintained.
Assist with assuring quality is maintained in the filling room.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Collects and performs packaging integrity analyses (teardown ratio, Dye test, Zonoscope, Conductivity,
formation, squeeze etc.) every thirty (30) minutes and immediately after an event, during production on all
UHT packs as per the QMS and records results of analyses on the relevant report.
Conducts all analyses and checks, such as sensory evaluation, peroxide concentration, net weight, code
correctness, alignment, legibility and others as per pertinent QMS and acts accordingly.
Conducts chemical dissolving of packaging per shift (acid & caustic)
Identifies, isolates and tags nonconforming products coming off the line and records respective information
on the pertinent log sheet.
Ensures product content matches laminate being used; evaluates laminate artwork at the start of shift and
each time a reel is changed. Compare with reference.
Conducts release of equipment for production as per QMS. Conducts visual checks and cleanliness checks
(ATP) on equipment parts as required.
Assists, when necessary, with the sampling, testing/analysis on all incoming packaging materials for release
in accordance with company’s specifications, or as instructed by Quality Controller / authorized Quality
Laboratory personnel and records results of analyses on the relevant report.
Samples products as per the QMS and identifies finished products from the line, which are needed for
quality verification within the Laboratory.
Carries finished product samples from Production to the main laboratory at the end of each shift.
Ensures adequate chemical, equipment and utensils are available to perform analyses.
Keeps work area clean and tidy at all times, by practicing “clean as you go” concept and participates in

general cleaning as required.
12. Reports all deviations to Quality Controller + Shift Manager
13. Participates in Food Safety and SHE Programmes as specified by the company.
14. Liaises with Packaging Analyst regarding related matters.
15. Serves as backup for Junior Analyst (CAN). Perform seam analysis and pressure test as per frequency
based on QMS
16. Performs any other function related to duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Academic/Technical/Management: Experience and Qualifications:
CAPE Science subjects including Chemistry/Physics, Mathematics and English Language/A.Sc. Degree in a
science related discipline.
