Zoya Kolkin

Director, People Operations at Sequoia

Zoya Kolkin has a diverse and extensive work experience. Zoya started their professional career as a Co-Teacher at Northwestern University- Student Led Seminar in 2010, where they taught from January to March. Zoya then joined Upwardly Global as a Senior Employment Services Associate in April 2010 and worked there until November 2013.

In 2012, Zoya worked as a Co-Teacher at Chicago Sinai Congregation from September to May the following year. Zoya also participated in the Northwestern University Public Interest Program as a Fellow from May 2010 to May 2011.

Zoya's next role was as an Operations Manager at Per Scholas, where they worked from March to August 2015. Zoya then became a Consulting Fellow at FMA (Fiscal Management Associates, LLC) from September 2015 to May 2016.

From June 2016 to January 2019, Zoya worked as a Senior Talent Associate (HR Generalist) at Acumen. Zoya then transitioned to the role of Talent Operations Manager at the same organization from January to April 2019.

Zoya joined Intersection Co. in April 2019 and held the position of People Operations Manager until March 2020. Zoya was then promoted to Director, People Operations and served in that role until joining Sequoia Consulting Group in December 2022.

Currently, Zoya works as the Director of People Operations at Sequoia Consulting Group, a tech-enabled consulting and services company that focuses on helping employers unlock the full potential of their workforce through technology, guidance, and community support.

Zoya Kolkin has a diverse education history. In 2016, they completed a Master's Degree in Public Administration (MPA) with a focus on Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Prior to that, they attended Northwestern University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Their major was Social Policy, and they minored in Sociology.

During their time at Northwestern, Zoya Kolkin also participated in two study abroad programs. In 2008, they spent a semester at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their concentration during that time was in Migration & Identity. Zoya also took part in a summer semester in Gulu, Uganda, at the Northwestern University Center for Global Engagement. Their concentration during this program was in Sustainable Community Development.

Aside from their formal education, Zoya Kolkin obtained a TESOL 120 Advanced Certificate from TEFL Express in December 2012.
