Cleaning Technician (Janitor) Job Description:
Work independently while at the same time possessing the ability to use common sense to accomplish the tasks required efficiently and effectively.
Duties and responsibilities:
Cleaning offices including floors, carpets and rugs.
Empty trash and recycling bins.
Vacuum, sweep and mop floors.
Clean, sanitize and maintain restrooms.
Clean, sanitize and maintain Kitchen and dining areas.
Assist with the decoration and rearrangement of tables, chairs etc. in preparation for meetings, corporate events and workshops and assist with the distribution of food.
Responsible for performing periodical deep cleanings of office areas.
Proper disposal of debris, cardboard and some other residual materials that must be discarded.
Sweep leaves on common areas outside the offices.
Wiping surfaces and windows.
Performing laundry tasks (draperies, table cloths etc)
Maintain accurate inventory control of tools, equipment and supplies.
Report any malfunction of equipment.
Cleaning and dusting the work stations (desks).
Perform other tasks as requested.
Qualifications include:
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience performing Janitorial tasks in offices or commercial building.
Valid Driver’s License.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning products and supplies is preferred.
Ability to work independently.
Capability to assess health and safety requirements.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
