Gabriel Barela

Gabriel Barela has worked in various roles since 2012. In 2012, they worked as a Residence Life Coordinator at Grinnell College, where they supervised, trained and hired 15-18 Student Assistants, coordinated pre-port sessions, and served as a liaison for 75 non U.S. members. In 2016, they became the Program Director of Student Engagement for the Career Center at Carleton College. From 2015-2016, they were a Scholar Advisor at Wallin Education Partners. In 2019, they worked as a Resident Director at Semester At Sea/ISE, where they co-facilitated in-country field programs, coordinated with field office staff, and served as a liaison. In 2020, they became a Salesforce Certified Administrator at TalentStacker | Salesforce Career Development Program. In 2021, they took on the role of Salesforce Administrator at Latinos LEAD (Latinos for Leadership Excellence and Diversity). Currently, they are a Marketing Automation Strategist at Sercante.

Gabriel Barela has an extensive education history. Gabriel obtained a Masters of Education from Iowa State University in 2012, with a focus in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration. Gabriel also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Social Justice from Iowa State University during the same time period. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) from Colorado State University in 2010, with a double major in Psychology and Political Science.

In addition to their formal education, Gabriel has obtained several certifications. In 2021, they earned a Salesforce Certified Administrator (SCA) from Salesforce, as well as Salesforce Ranger, Salesforce Business Administration Specialist, and Salesforce Lightning Experience Reports and Dashboards Specialist from Trailhead by Salesforce. Gabriel also earned the Salesforce Security Specialist Superbadge from Trailhead by Salesforce in 2021. In 2016, they obtained the NACE Coaching Certification Program (30 hours) from the National Association of Colleges and Employers.
