Jeffrey A. Miller

Mr Jeffrey A. Miller, known as Jeff, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of his company, JAMM Ventures. A business consultant in the tech sector, Mr Miller is a renowned Silicon Valley entrepreneur and venture capitalist, often focusing on strategic planning and leadership development. He established JAMM Ventures in 2002 and has more than 40 years of high tech experience, including in a range of directorship and board positions.

Mr Miller has worked as a venture partner with Redpoint Ventures from 2002-2006, helping to mentor CEOs across enterprise and infrastructure sectors in particular. He was CEO of Documentum, Inc., a document management software company from 1993-2001, and was Chairman of its Board from 1999-2003. The company specializes in creating online vaults for documents. It was just one year old when Mr Miller started as CEO, and during his time, was one of the fastest growing tech companies in the U.S., going from 15 employees and $500 thousand in annual sales, to 1,200 employees and annual revenue of more than $200 million. Documentum was acquired by EMC for $1.7 billion in 2003, shortly after Mr Miller left as Chairman of the Board.

Mr Miller has served on the Board of Directors for a number of different companies, many of them in the tech sector. He has been on the Board of Directors for ServiceNow, Datameer, Mark Logic, McAfee, and Data Domain. He is an advisor at Foundation Capital and has been Chairman of the Board of Directors for Lithium Technologies. He is on the Board of Trustees for Santa Clara University, and has also been an Executive Board Member of NBA team the Golden State Warriors. In addition, he has served on philanthropic boards, the American Prairie Reserve and the Golden State Warriors Community Foundation.

Mr Miller has also worked as Principal at Cadence Design Systems, Inc., and Vice President-Marketing for Adaptec, Inc.

In later years, Mr Miller, together with his wife Karen, has been a prominent philanthropist in the San Francisco Bay area in particular. A gift of $25 million to Santa Clara University, where he is an alumnus, helped to establish the eponymous Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship in 2015, replacing the former Center for Science, Technology, and Society. The center trains and mentors social entrepreneurs around the world, helping to unlock funding and conduct research for the betterment of global entrepreneurship. The funding of the Millers has helped the center to innovate cutting edge approaches to helping to provide for the needs of the poor.

Mr Miller holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, both from Santa Clara University.
