Helen Casendino is an Environmental Analyst at the San Francisco Estuary Institute since September 2022. Previously, Helen served as a Research Assistant in the Kelly Lab at the University of Washington from August 2021 to July 2022, where research focused on aquatic insect communities utilizing environmental DNA analysis. Additionally, Helen worked as a Barista at Sunflour - The Bryant Corner Cafe & Bakery from January 2022 to June 2022 and contributed as a Research Assistant in the Wood Lab at the University of Washington from September 2019 to June 2021, assisting in research on infestation rates of shell-burrowing worms in Pacific oysters. Helen holds a Bachelor's degree in Aquatic and Fishery Sciences with a minor in Quantitative Science from the University of Washington, completed in June 2022.
