Shake Shack
Michael Fanuele is Chief Brand Officer at Shake Shack, bringing decades of experience as a brand and marketing strategist. Joining the company in September 2025, Michael oversees advertising, paid media, and insights and analytics.
Before joining Shake Shack, Michael founded LAB OF CREATIVE COMMERCE, a consultancy partnering with high-growth brands. He has also held senior leadership roles across agencies and companies, including Chief Strategy Officer at Fallon and Havas, and Chief Creative Officer at General Mills, where he was the company’s first to hold that role. Over the course of his career, he has created market-moving work for brands such as Dos Equis, Arby’s, Cadillac, Charles Schwab, Cheerios, The Economist, and Volvo. Michael also served as President of Assembly Media and SVP of Brand & Strategy at fintech start-up ZenBusiness.
He holds a B.A. in Victorian Studies from Vassar College and is the author of Stop Making Sense: The Art of Inspiring Anybody (2019), now in its third printing. Michael lives in Pelham, NY with his wife and three sons.
