We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Director, Internal Communications to join our Corporate Communications team. Reporting directly to the Chief Communications Officer, the Director, Internal Communications will be responsible for driving strategic communications and storytelling for a rapidly expanding, global team of 3000+ associates.

The Director of Internal Communications will lead the strategy and execution of internal communication initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for enhancing employee engagement, promoting the company culture, and ensuring effective, clear, and consistent communication within the company. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, HR, and other departments to align communication strategies with organizational goals.

This position will work in a hybrid environment, based out of the Needham, MA corporate headquarters.


Key Duties Include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports the company’s objectives and enhances employee engagement.
  • Ensure alignment of internal messaging with external communications and overall brand strategy.
  • Oversee the creation, editing, and distribution of internal communications materials, including newsletters, intranet content, emails, presentations, and other channels.
  • Ensure all communications are clear, engaging, and tailored to the needs of diverse employee audiences.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop communication strategies that support organizational change, corporate initiatives, and key business updates.
  • Provide counsel to executives on internal communication best practices and message delivery.
  • Drive initiatives that foster a positive organizational culture and enhance employee engagement.
  • Design and implement feedback mechanisms to gauge employee sentiment and gather insights for continuous improvement.
  • Lead communication efforts for organizational changes, including mergers, acquisitions, restructures, and other significant transformations.
  • Ensure transparent and effective communication to manage change and minimize disruption.
  • Collaborate with senior executives to craft compelling speeches, presentations, talking points, and other content
  • Counsel executives on messaging, tone, and communication style
  • Ensure consistency in executive messaging across various internal platforms
  • Establish metrics to assess the effectiveness of internal communication strategies.
  • Regularly report on communication outcomes and use data to inform and improve future initiatives.
  • Drive initiatives that foster a positive organizational culture and enhance employee engagement.
  • Design and implement feedback mechanisms to gauge employee sentiment and gather
  • Work closely with HR, IT, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of communication efforts.
  • Collaborate with external communications and marketing teams to ensure consistency in messaging.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in internal communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful internal communication strategies.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.

- Strong understanding of digital communication tools and platforms.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.

- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.

- Experience in change management and employee engagement initiatives.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.

- This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

- Occasional travel may be required.
