We are looking for a Sr Director Operations - Consumables this individual will have proven experience in identifying, developing, maintaining and enhancing relationships with suppliers. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of the goods and services procured for SharkNinja’s consumable products – an exciting and growing part of the business. The Sr Director Operations - Consumables requires a broad knowledge and experience across the end-to-end supply chain, along with strong negotiation and contract management skills.  This is a high-visibility role which will partner cross-functionally to ensure a robust procurement process that delivers quality and service at the lowest total cost. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills, influencing skills, and analytical skills.  They will be motivated by a fast-paced start-up environment that requires agility and flexibility. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Key Responsibilities for the Sr. Director, Operations include:  

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Product Development, Engineering, Marketing and FP&A teams to understand sourcing requirements. 
  • Leading vendor selection activities, including RFI’s/RFP’s and contract negotiation, which deliver the best service and quality at the lowest total cost. 
  • Own the account and relationships – manage performance and support both account & internal working teams both during onboarding and on-going work 
  • Define scorecards and key metrics that drive visibility and accountability for vendor performance. 
  • Lead complex, cross-functional projects as required by the business—with or without a sourcing requirement. 
  • Ensure assumptions, risks and opportunities are identified, monitored, and reported on to ensure flawless execution.  Ensure risks have mitigations clearly outlined. 
  • Hold appropriate personnel accountable, including functional leaders, to deliver on agreed to actions for mitigation of risk or realization of opportunities identified. Escalate to leadership team as appropriate. 
  • Keep focus of the consumer and retailer experiences through each facet of supply chain sourcing. 
  • Identify continuous improvement and productivity opportunities across addressable spend, and lead projects to capitalize and deliver savings annually to SharkNinja.

This is a hands-on role and the leader must be a proactive, action-oriented leader with the ability to quickly solve complex problems with a “make it happen” attitude. This leader must also have strong experience partnering with and influencing cross functional stakeholders, including product development, commercial, manufacturing, and logistics. Most importantly, this individual must balance the strategic and hands-on requirements of this position with a flexible working style and a proven ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders. 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Experience in operations / supply chain with experience leading sourcing activities within a fast-paced, consumer-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor selection and vendor management that deliver best-in-class quality/service at the lowest possible cost. 
  • Experience across key supply chain functions, including manufacturing, planning, distribution, logistics, sourcing, and/or procurement. 
  • Experience and understanding of global supply chain dynamics and considerations. 
  • Proven experience in using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to drive vendor performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills to develop, measure and improve key performance indicators.  
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with measurable results—delivered on time and within budget. 
  • Track record of quickly developing solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. 
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working in a dynamic, fun, fast-paced environment. Very comfortable ‘living in the gray’ and being a driving force 
  • Proven experience in delivering annual cost productivity through sourcing activities, including “should cost” analysis, negotiation, competitive benchmarking, vendor replacement, etc. 
  • A team oriented and collaborative approach. Proven results building effective long-term relationships at all levels, internally and externally, and go the extra mile for customers.  
  • Proven track record of delivering results through influencing across functions. 
  • Strong negotiation skills to reach consensus, alignment, and commitment. 
  • Ability to communicate for impact, both verbally and in writing; ability to adjust communication and style depending on audience (technical vs. executive leadership). 
  • Unpretentious confidence. Communicate transparently – listen actively and speak respectfully.  
  • Operate with a strong work ethic and an unrelenting resolve to follow through and meet commitments.  
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn, roll-up their sleeves and set an example for the team as a “doer.”  
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly, to new demands with a high sense of urgency. 

EDUCATION and OTHER SKILLS 

  • BA/BS degree, ideally in a discipline relevant to Operations, Supply Chain
  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration or technical discipline, while not required, will further differentiate the ideal candidate. 
  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including five years in a sourcing leadership role.  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS 

  • Travel Required (Domestic & International) - up to 15% 
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate virtual meetings with global regions
