Steve Zamfes

Operations Manager at ShearFRAC

Steve Zamfes has a diverse work experience in the geophysical and oil field industries. Steve started their career in 2007 as a Geoscientist at Prospectors Corp., where they supervised well paths and supported the development of geological subsurface logging equipment. At Geo Grid Environmental, from 2009 to 2011, they managed a large-scale remediation project and conducted site assessments. Steve then joined CGG as a Geophysical Data Processor, overseeing a multi-year project and mentoring junior team members.

In 2017, Zamfes joined Tierra Geomatic Services Inc. as a Geoscientist, setting up a geophysical service division and managing multiple projects. Steve then moved to DMT Geosciences Ltd. in 2018, where they served as a Geophysicist and project manager for near-surface investigations at oil sand mines and environmental sites.

Currently, Zamfes is working at ShearFRAC®, starting in 2019 as an Operations Geophysicist and later being promoted to Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager. In these roles, they demonstrated technical expertise in product development and applications, addressed operational issues, provided training and technical support, and fostered a collaborative environment.

Throughout their career, Zamfes has consistently applied their knowledge in geophysics and oil field technologies to drive efficiency and deliver quality results.

Steve Zamfes graduated from the University of Calgary in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Geophysics. In addition to their degree, they have obtained the certification of AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2021. Steve is also a registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA). The month and year of obtaining the P.Geo certification are not provided.
