Melanie Kiss-Endicott's work experience includes various roles in the healthcare and education sectors. Melanie is currently working as the VP of Coding Education at Shearwater Health, a position they started in October 2021. In November 2021, they also became a Hospital Board Commissioner at Newport Hospital and Health Services. In 2020, they founded and served as the CEO of Chicas Abroad. Melanie is also an author, having self-published a book titled "Adventure More, Worry Less: A Woman's Guide to Traveling the World" in January 2021. Prior to their current roles, they held positions such as Adjunct Professor at Stephens College and Health Information Management Adjunct Faculty at Spokane Community College. Melanie also has significant experience at AHIMA, where they held several senior director and vice president roles related to HIM practice excellence and international education and training. Melanie has also worked at YES HIM Consulting, Inc. as the Director of Coding Education. Melanie's career in education and healthcare started in 2004 when they became the HIM Lead Instructor and Program Director at Community Colleges of Spokane.
Melanie Kiss-Endicott obtained a B.A. in Health Information Management from Carroll College in 1999. Melanie later pursued an MBA/HCM degree in Business, Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix, which they completed in 2005. Melanie has also obtained multiple certifications in the field of healthcare, including the RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CDIP, AHIMA-Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer, FAHIMA, CHDA, CPHI, and CTA.
