Mary Robare

Dance Instructor

Mary Robare is an accomplished adjunct auxiliary associate professor at Shenandoah University since August 1991, specializing in ballet and musical theatre dance styles, as well as choreographing musicals. In addition to this academic role, Robare has been an independent researcher at Robare of Hillside Studios since 2000, focusing on historical quilts and schoolgirl needlework, with activities that include guest curatorial services, published writings, and lectures. Robare's extensive experience in the performing arts includes positions as a guest instructor, director, and choreographer at various institutions such as The Academy at Metropolitan School of the Arts and Mercersburg Academy, as well as choreographer for Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre from 1993 to 2013. Robare also enjoyed a notable performance career with Broadway and national tours from 1980 to 1989, featuring in productions such as A Chorus Line and Singin' in the Rain. An academic background includes a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University earned between 2008 and 2010.
