Michael Slater Work

Michael Slater has over three decades of experience in the marine engineering field, currently serving as a Senior Technical Engineer at Shetland Islands Council since 1996, where responsibilities include repairing, overhauling, and maintaining a fleet of ferries, tugs, and ferry terminals. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Foreman Electrical Engineer at Malakoff Shipyard from 1986 to 1996, focusing on vessel repairs, including fishing, oil supply, and passenger ships, as well as oil terminal work. Michael's education includes ongoing studies in Electrical Installation work at Inverness Technical College, along with early education at Scalloway Junior High School.
