Mostafa Mostafa has a diverse background in various industries and roles. Mostafa started their career as an Assistant Project Manager at Elsewedy Electric in 2012. Mostafa then moved on to work as a Certification Specialist at FGH GmbH for a few months in 2012. In 2013, Mostafa joined RWTH Aachen University as a Li-ion Battery Researcher, where they stayed until 2014. Mostafa then worked as a Trading Analyst at Statkraft from 2013 to 2014. From 2015 to 2018, Mostafa worked as a Business Development professional at ABB. In 2018, they joined Climate-KIC as the Climathon Lead for Egypt and also worked as an Energy Policy Consultant at the International Institute for Sustainable Development. Most recently, Mostafa joined Shift EV in 2019 as the Head of Product Operations.

Mostafa Mostafa began their education at Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule, Cairo, where they completed their high school education and obtained their Abitur degree, from 1996 to 2008.

Mostafa then pursued a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Clean Energy Systems at RWTH Aachen University from 2008 to 2014.

As part of an exchange program, Mostafa attended Seoul National University in 2014 and obtained a Master's degree.

In terms of additional certifications, Mostafa obtained several in recent years. In 2019, they completed the "ESRx: Energy Subsidy Reform" certification offered by the International Monetary Fund, "Course 2: Policies supporting energy transformation" certification from Renewables Academy (RENAC), "EMDE01x: Unlocking Investment and Finance in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs)" certification from the World Bank Group, and "The Science of Leadership" certification from Udemy. In 2019, they also completed "Course 1: Introduction to Power Systems" certification from Renewables Academy (RENAC).
