They then worked as a Software Engineering Intern at Qualcomm in 2012, where they developed OpenGL ES Drivers and debugging tools. In 2013, they joined Qualcomm again as a Hardware Engineering Intern, where they implemented texture pipeline optimizations and maintained Perl scripts for hardware analysis. Austen then worked as a Software Engineer (Contractor) at SlideIn in 2013, focusing on Java Server Technologies and Windows Driver hooks.

In 2014, Austen founded WiMap and served as the Head of Technology. They developed an android application for WiFi mapping and implemented a clustered signal strength algorithm for accurate location generation. Austen also worked as a Software Engineer at Qualcomm during the same year, where they implemented OpenGL ES API and worked on testing frameworks.

From 2015 to 2018, Austen worked at LevelUp as an Embedded Linux Engineer. They built firmware for an embedded Linux platform, designed next-generation hardware, and supported various development teams.
