Role overview

The mission of our BizOps & Analytics team is to build the foundations and infrastructure to continue scaling our business to $100M revenue and beyond. We work with all teams across Shiftsmart to lead end-to-end projects, deliver objective analysis and insights, incubate new roles, and execute strategic initiatives.

In this role you might design new business processes for scale, optimize our growth marketing investments, help build and launch new functions, or unlock new revenue opportunities. Whatever it is, you will work on what will move the needle most for Shiftsmart.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with leadership and different teams to design and execute end-to-end projects using a broad lens (e.g. people, data, technology, process), providing extra firepower against top priorities
  • Analyze business drivers and levers using data and first principles, in order to identify opportunities and issues that will unlock the most value for Shiftsmart
  • Own strategic projects and initiatives that do not fit directly within scope of existing teams (e.g. build a new tool to support daily operations, develop a recruiting framework for new hires)
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to summarize performance and highlight opportunities / challenges (e.g. funnel conversion, worker retention curves, marketplace fill rate trends)
  • Use tools like SQL, Google Sheets, Tableau, and whatever else you will need to gather and analyze data to develop insights and inform decisions

Who you are

You get excited about solving ambiguous problems using both data and first principles, and enjoy challenging existing thinking to influence business decisions.

  • Analytically-minded - You have 2-7+ years experience in an analytical role (e.g. bizops, consulting, finance), and ideally in startups. We hire across a range of experience levels to our team.

  • Problem solver - You enjoy applying frameworks to problems, touching the bottom of the ocean with data, learning new tools and skills, and using first principles thinking where no precedent exists.

  • Communicator - You can translate complicated analysis into compelling narratives, and seamlessly oscillate between 30,000 and 3-foot perspectives.
  • Multi-tasker - You’re able to set priorities while remaining flexible in an ever-changing environment.
  • Technical skills - You have experience with SQL or a strong willingness to learn.
