Shahir Chowdhury

Shahir Chowdhury is currently the Co-Founder & CEO at Shikho, a Bangladeshi education technology start-up. Shahir is responsible for building a hyper-localised digital learning ecosystem for a learning-age population of 85 million. Shikho has received funding from various sources, including Learn Capital, Wavemaker Partners, and DSG Consumer Partners. Prior to their current role, Shahir worked at HSBC as a Director and Private Banker from January 2020 to September 2021. Before that, they held various positions at Barclays Wealth Management from 2012 to 2020, including Vice President, Wealth Manager, Vice President, Lead Finance Business Partner, and Assistant Vice President, Reporting & Analytics. Shahir also worked at Barclays as an Assistant Vice President, Treasury Advisory from October 2015 to June 2016. Shahir began their career at Barclays in 2010, participating in the Finance Graduate Leadership Programme and working in roles such as Finance Business Partner and Analyst for different divisions within the company. Shahir also gained experience as an Internee in Global Markets at Citi for a few months in 2010.

Shahir Chowdhury completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Management at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their degree, they obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder certification from the CFA Institute in October 2014. Shahir also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) from CFA UK, which they obtained in May 2017.
