How we'll ​​deliver success: We aim to create the best shipping experience for our merchants. Every year, 100,000+ merchants ship millions of orders on the Shippo platform, either directly through our App for smaller shippers, or through our APIs for shippers of larger size. As the Sr. Director of App Product, you and your team will work cross-functionally with go-to-market and product stakeholders to create the best shipping experiences for SMB merchants. Your team will focus on working with merchants to understand their shipping workflows and design optimal solutions that enable them to hand over entire shipping workflows to Shippo. You will co-own the P&L for the entire app business with your GTM counterpart. Shippo is extremely user-centric and always makes product decisions by balancing insights from user research, customer data, and best practices. This role will report directly to the VP of Product. 

Shipping & handling​​ responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the app, ensuring alignment with overall company goals and customer needs.
  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers to deliver high-quality app features and improvements for 100K+ merchants worldwide.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, to drive product initiatives and ensure successful launches.
  • Own and drive Shippo’s understanding of SMBs, the people behind them, and their workflows through market research and competitive analysis.
  • Prioritize and re-prioritize product roadmap items based on customer feedback, stakeholder input, and data analytics to ensure the most customer-valuable items get built.
  • Oversee the product development process, and partner closely with engineering and design to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and optimize the user experience.
  • Act as an advocate for the app within the organization, communicating product vision, updates, and achievements to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our mobile app remains competitive and innovative.
  • Provide and seek feedback from others to continually push the bar for quality.

Do you tick the ​​boxes​​?

  • 10+ years’ experience — with a strong focus on building products for large merchant volume in a high transaction volume environment
  • 5+ years of experience in building and managing high-performing product teams
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully leading and scaling app products with a large user base
  • Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and product management tools such as JIRA.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for e-commerce and logistics technology, committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • 3+ years of experience working in fast-paced environments, building and scaling SaaS products
  • Nice to have Extensive experience working in or with e-commerce companies
  • Nice to have Experience working on logistics, fulfillment & e-commerce shipping products and services
