Christina Lomazzo is the Blockchain Ecosystem Lead at Shopify. Christina has a passion for blockchain technology and its potential to make a positive impact on the world. Christina has been working in the blockchain space for over two years and has been involved in numerous projects, both in academia and in the private sector. Christina is also a member of the Global Future Council on Cryptocurrencies of the World Economic Forum. In this role, they have contributed to developing and executing a roadmap for the Council to raise the visibility of cryptocurrencies' potential. Christina has also co-authored resources on cryptocurrency use cases and how organisations can get started with this new technology. Prior to their work at Shopify, Christina was an adjunct professor at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where they developed an inter-disciplinary curriculum on how to assess the potential of new and emerging technologies – in particular, blockchain, smart contracts and tokens – and the role they can play in addressing some of the most pressing challenges. Christina is a strong advocate for the use of blockchain technology for social good and believes that it has the potential to make a positive impact on the world.

Christina Lomazzo has a Master's Degree in International Business from Ivey Business School at Western University and a Master's Degree in International Management from CEMS - The Global Alliance in Management Education. Christina also has a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from the University of Ottawa and is certified by IBM as an IBM Blockchain Foundation Developer.

Christina Lomazzo reports to Allan Leinwand, CTO. They are on a team with Tom Newton - VP, Engineering, Andrew Dunbar - VP, Security Engineering & IT, and IBK Ajila - Director of Engineering, Retail.
