Lilian Lau

Lilian Lau is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in the field of data science and analytics. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Shopify since September 2022, Lilian formerly led initiatives as the Founder and Chair of the Toronto Chapter of Women In Big Data, focusing on fostering female talent in the industry. Previous roles include Data Science Manager at Northbridge Financial Corporation, Data Scientist at ASSURANCE IQ, and a Data Science Manager at Aviva Canada, where machine learning model development was a primary focus. Lilian's work at Quandl involved leveraging alternative data to analyze market trends. Earlier career positions included a Student Program Assistant at The University of British Columbia and a Student Policy Analyst at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. Lilian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics (Honours) from The University of British Columbia.
