Sonia Nguyen

Sonia Nguyen is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in analytics and insights generation across multiple industries. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Shopify since May 2020, Sonia has contributed to various teams, including Growth Data and Revenue Data. Prior to this role, Sonia worked at RBC as a Manager of Payment Analytics, where responsibilities included developing an analytics strategy and facilitating the transition to Big Data platforms. Earlier experiences include a Research Assistant position at Statistics Canada, where Sonia designed data sets and performed statistical analyses, along with roles at Western University and the University of Ottawa focused on research and teaching support. Sonia holds a Master of Business Analytics from Schulich School of Business, a Master's degree in Sociology from Western University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Ottawa. Additionally, Sonia completed the International Baccalaureate Programme at Weston Collegiate Institute.
