Jackie Mercer

Jackie Mercer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in community engagement, business ownership, and planning. Currently, Jackie serves as the Coordinator of Community Engagement at Shorefast since August 2021. As a Co-Owner of Victoria Outfitters & Lodge since January 2017, Jackie specializes in providing outdoor experiences and hospitality. Previous roles include Planner III for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, where Jackie ensured compliance with provincial policies in municipal planning, and HR Coordinator at Teck Resources Limited, focusing on corporate program delivery and employee development. Jackie also served as Project Coordinator for the Bay St. George Status of Women Council, empowering young women in community leadership, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Guelph, contributing to local economic development research. Jackie holds a Master of Science in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Memorial University.
