Mthembeni Gigaba

Mthembeni Gigaba has extensive experience in operations management within the mining and engineering sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Surface Operations at Sibanye-Stillwater since December 2019, Mthembeni previously held roles including Senior Operations Manager. At Lonmin Platinum, Mthembeni was Head of Operations for the Base Metal Refinery and Engineering Manager from July 2012 to December 2019. Prior experience includes positions at Glencore as an Engineer, Anglo Platinum as Section Engineering Manager, and Transnet SOC Ltd as an Engineer. Mthembeni holds an MBA from GIBS Business School and a B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, along with a qualification from Mangosuthu Technikon.
